The Festival of Life

Yay! Selective coloring! only colored the pinks and blues.. prolly woulda been done faster if i did it normally but whatevs.

Anyway, yes, this really was the best idea I could think up. I know it's not very in depth but at least I tried right? And here's your Spiel.

The Festival of Life

On March 1st before the first day of spring, a season seen as the time of new life, a festival is thrown in honor of Mew, who is thought to be the parent of all Pokemon. Everyone wishes to try and see this legendary Pokemon during the festival, and it was once said that you would have a bountiful crops that year as well as good fortune if you managed to catch sight of one.

The festival is celebrated with the use of pink and blue cords that people would tie around their wrists or on to branches of trees. It was thought that Mew would be lured out of hiding by these colorful cords wishing to play with the dangling objects which resembled the color of the Pokemon itself.

Many games and activities are also set up at this time, and small shrines are erected in honor of Mew each adorned with more of the multicolored cords as well as small toys and instruments for any passing Mew to play with.

All food at the festival is typically a snack or dessert item, as sweets and candies are the favorites of children, and childlike Pokemon (such as Mew)

Music fills the air as it is said that Mew love to play and enjoy the sound of joyous music. The main festival ends that night, and will often times end with a final get together to play, make merry and enjoy a fireworks display. The activities from the festival will often continue through the week, and the cords are often worn until March 22nd after the first day of spring by those who still hold hope that Mew will appear to them.

It is said that all the fun is enough to attract Mew to the festival each year, and many sightings have been claimed, but as most of these claims come from children, they are still questionable.

The pink cords are to symbolize Mew, while the blue cords are to symbolize, both Mew's eyes, and Shiny mew.
